mobile low-flying target radar detection station with annular phased array

Designation

Automatic detection, measurement of the primary coordinates (azimuth, range) and speed of aerial objects (AO); automatic detection and tracking of AOs in jammed and cluttered conditions and output of radar information to a remote control system; automatic AO classification (fixed-wing aircraft, helicopter, cruise missile, balloon, unidentified target), determination of jammer bearings, transfer of information to an automated command & control system.

Capabilities and advantages

— combat operations in stand-alone mode or as part of a radar Complex — from 1 to 5 low-flying target detection radars (LFTDR);

— detection, decoding and imaging of information extracted from AO Mode S transponder messages, by the ADS-B passive signals reception channel;

— determination of AO flight level when minimum two LFTDRs are engaged in the Complex;

— operating frequency tuning in both automatic and automated modes;

— “Functional check” mode used for automatic LFTDR functioning self-test, with display of the results;

— LFTDR operation energized by commercial/industrial power net or autonomous power supply (diesel generator set);

— high mobility and survivability of the LFTDR due to installation of all the hardware and autonomous power supplies on two high cross- country capacity trucks.

Design features

— LFTDR setup (teardown) is assisted by electromechanical devices;

— the antenna system is an annular phased array;

— digital beam-forming (no mechanical antenna rotation), the LFTDR scans the space in azimuth by 4 partial patterns whereby each pattern performs linear scanning across 90˚ sector;

— the transceiver device is solid-state, multichannel, modular.
